Overview

The Telex SMP-2 (Channel O/75.7MHz) is a portable, battery operated, VHF wireless personal monitoring system, packed into a professional carrying case with a foam-padded interior. The system is notable for the ease of operation and light weight of the principal components, clarity of sound and a 300' operating range. The Soundmate SMP-2 system consists of the PST-170 transmitter, which operates on Channel O/75.7MHz, six single-channel, fixed frequency SR-50 portable receivers, with companion HED-2 collapsible headphones and the HM-2 headworn microphone, which features a discreet, lightweight, behind-the-head headband. The case and 14 "AA" batteries are also part of the System.

The PST-170 Belt Pack Transmitter may be set to displayed on the backlit LCD and operates on Channel O/75.7MHz band. It is lightweight; battery operated and includes a small lapel microphone for convenient portable use. The PST-170 has two audio input jacks. The Auxiliary input is designed to allow the use of audio devices such as teacher's aides or tape players. The second jack is normally used with a microphone and is located on the top panel.

The SR-50 single channel receiver provides clears reception and the simplicity of a fixed channel. This economical receiver operates on Channel O/75.7MHz band. Ergonomic raised volume control knob makes level adjustments easily accessible by feel. Recessed headphone jack provides extra protection for earphone connections. Two AA batteries give up to 30 hours continuous battery life.

The SMP-2 is designed as a low cost alternative solution for bus and museum tours, house of worship or theatrical assistive listening applications and conferencing situations involving multi-client, multi-user translation needs.
