However, this particular unit features DPA's recently-developed CORE technology, adding a little more performance to an already exemplary 4088 series. It comes equipped with a 100mm (3.9") boom which accommodates varying applications and head sizes, is colored beige, and includes a MicroDot connector, allowing versatile connection options using DPA's flexible adapter system, which enables compatibility with popular wireless systems on the market

The mic capsule is a pre-polarized first-order pressure-gradient transducer hidden in a small and lightweight housing.
